Marloth Park is a very unique place. It’s a 3000-hectare residential wildlife conservancy in Lowveld, right on the doorstep of Kruger National Park. Marloth has its own prolific wildlife population, including Zebra, Impala, Kudu, Wildebeest, Giraffe, and Warthogs, along with several other species that stroll freely through the bush all around your house. Occasionally we get visitors who make it even more unique, Lions, leopards and the odd Elephant have been known to wander through.
Just across the Crocodile River is Kruger National Park. You can walk, drive or cycle from your house in minutes to the Crocodile River and see Elephants, Hippo, Water Buck and much more separated only by a wire fence. The nearest Kruger entry gate is Crocodile Bridge, a mere 20-minute drive from Marloth Park.
Marloth Park has two shopping centres, each with a small supermarket for food and other provisions. There are two liquor stores, two butcheries, a fuel station, a bakery, and a laundry service. There are also three pubs, each with family-style restaurants along with a whole host of other restaurants one being a riverside restaurant with spectacular elevated panoramic views into Kruger.
Marloth Park also contains a recreational and camping centre in a municipal park on the river. It even has a water slide park that’s great for kids as well as adults.
Finally, Lion Spruit. This is Marloth Park’s own private game reserve where, for a small entry fee, you can drive yourself and enjoy free roaming wildlife that includes Kudu, Bush Buck, Zebra, Impala, Giraffe, Buffalo, and if you’re fortunate you might catch a glimpse of the resident Lions, Buffalo and Rhino.
